As a key to such an existential access figures the concept of inner consent. It encompraises the human’s freedom as well as our relationship and feelings, our perception of the world’s reality and possible development in the future including the meaning of existence. This feeling of inner consent reflects our basic capacity of dealing with the world and ourselves. In it are summarized the fundamental existential motivations.
They not only form a matrix for motivation and practical guidance of life but also for the psychopathological understanding of psychic disorders and provide a background for clinical interventions. They represent the structural model of modern Existential Analytical Psychotherapy.
